About

Aniruddha is a partner at Almaz Capital based in Berlin.

He brings investment and operating experience of 25+ years in the fields of enterprise software, telecom, semiconductors and medical devices. He has worked in the US, EU and India and has expertise in scaling product development, sales, general management, financing and M&A.

Over the last 15 years, as an early stage investor, first at KPCB and then at Wellington, he has led 17investments with 13 successful exits [some notable exits: Virsa acquired by SAP, InfoEdge IPO, LuxVue acquired by Apple, Cavendish Kinetics acquired by Qorvo, Mapillary acquired by Facebook, etc.]. He was the founding member of the team responsible for building Jio, a pan India 4G mobile broadband and a fiber to home network (a $25B investment) which has 400M subscribers and is the largest mobile operator in India. In 1999 he co-founded SAPMarkets, the ecommerce company of SAP, and grew sales to $650M in two years, before it was acquired. At Zimmer and Synthes, he developed and launched four product lines of orthopedic medical devices in the US and EU leading to over $100M revenue in two years after launch.

Aniruddha’s has a PhD in biomechanics from Leibnitz University in Hanover Germany and a MBA from Harvard Business School. He has authored several patents and research publications.

At Almaz, his major focus is on innovations in SaaS, infrastructure software (for cloud, security, fintech, and deep learning), robotics, and semiconductors.
