The support and commitment from EIF are made through InnovFin Equity, with the financial backing of the European Union (EU) under Horizon 2020 Financial Instruments, as well as benefiting from the financial backing of the EU under the European Fund for Strategic Investments set up under the Investment Plan for Europe, and the financial backing of the Pan-European Guarantee Fund in response to COVID-19, implemented by the EIF with the financial support of the Participating Member States. The purpose of these EIF programmes is to help support financing and implementing productive investments in the EU and to ensure increased access to financing.
