Deniz Isil Sahin is an Analyst at Almaz Capital, based in Berlin, Germany. Deniz is responsible for deal sourcing, analysis, and due diligence. She is focusing on formulating and presenting investment cases to the investment committee alongside Partners.

Prior to Almaz, she worked as an Industrial Engineer at Continental Tire in the United States. In this role, she led corporate projects concerning Production Efficiency and Continues Improvement and achieved major cost savings for the company. She was also responsible for investment planning, capacity planning, and benchmarking activities for the Mixing production department she specialized in. In addition, she took part in corporate data analytics & visualization projects.

Prior to Continental, she worked as a graduate teaching and research assistant at Southern Illinois University Edwardsville. Her independent research on Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems was published in the IISE 2017 Conference Proceedings. She wrote her master’s thesis on Time-Optimal Scheduling of High Throughput System for Drug-Discovery and Virus-Detection.

Deniz holds a M.Sc. degree from Southern Illinois University Edwardsville (SIUE) and a B.Sc. degree from both Istanbul Technical University (ITU) and SIUE as a double-degree.

Today my interests are in Business Process Optimization and leading technologies focusing on Automation, Data Analytics, and Machine Learning.
