Dave Mixer, Advisor

Dave Mixer has been investing in early-stage technology companies for over 20 years, and is a founding partner of Columbia Capital, a leading venture capital firm in the communications and information technology industries.

Columbia Capital manages three venture funds, with over $1.4 billion managed on behalf of institutional and private investors.

Mr. Mixer was a member of the General Partner of Columbia from 1988-1999. In his tenure at Columbia, Dave was involved in 77 investment decisions and was a director of 12 companies including Bay Cellular, Sterling Cellular, Saville Systems, Telular Corporation, Spaceworks, Columbia Spectrum Management, and Digital Television Services/Pegasus.

In 2000, Mr. Mixer co-founded, together with Baring Vostok Russia Fund and United Financial Group, Ru-Net Holdings, a Russian firm with investments in Internet and software service companies.

In addition to his interests in Russia and the US, Mr. Mixer is also an advisor to CMHJ Partners, an early growth stage venture capital firm in China.

Prior to his venture capital career, he served as President of Providence Cellular where he led the company in the acquisition of U.S. cellular properties, and held various management positions within corporate planning for AT&T.

Mr. Mixer earned a BA from Union College and an MBA from the Harvard Business School.
